This is the tutorial created for the Desktop interactive exhibits of the H. Lee White Maritime Museum in Oswego.

The Oswego LightHouse

The Oswego Harbor West Pierhead Lighthouse was built in 1934 to replace a previous lighthouse built in 1880. The iconic building has been recreated here, documented with historical information from the H. Lee White Maritime Museum.

Major Lundie's Schoolhouse

A depiction of Fort Ontario in the 18th century; an important fort for keeping important waterways under British control. This scene is based on George Gray’s “Major Lundie’s School House on Wheels”. The Schoolhouse, Anne McVickar, and Basil Dunbar's duel are featured in this scene.

The Treaty of Oswego

A depiction of the Treaty of Oswego, a George Gray mural. In this scene, Chief Pontiac, an Ottawa War Chief, can be seen negotiating with Robert Rogers. Featured in this scene are Pontiac, Rogers, trade goods, The Northwest Passage, and Roger's Rangers.

Steps to Follow:


Step 1: Power on your Oculus Go or Oculus Quest

Step 2: From the Oculus dashboard, open the integrated web browser

Step 3: Scroll down to the end of the page and click into the project icons to experience the virtual environments


Instructions for the ClassVR Headset

Steps to Follow:


Step 1: Power on your ClassVR headset

Step 2: Make sure the CoSpaces app is installed on your headset

Step 3: Log into the ClassVR portal and drag the CoSpaces Library on the right-hand side to the Playlist on the left. Launch the CoSpaces app and search for "The Oswego Lighthouse”, “Major Lundie’s Schoolhouse”, and “The Treaty of Oswego" projects. Step 1: Power on your Pico headsets

Step 2: Make sure the CoSpaces app is installed on your headset

Step 3: Launch the CoSpaces app. Search for "The Oswego Lighthouse”, “Major Lundie’s Schoolhouse”, and “The Treaty of Oswego" in the search box, click into the projects and enjoy!

Steps to Experience the Augmented Reality (AR) Applications:


Step 1: Install CoSpaces app on a mobile device

Step 2: Search for the name of each project in the CoSpaces’s search box, including “The Oswego Lighthouse (AR)”, “Major Lundie’s Schoolhouse(AR)”, and “The Treaty of Oswego (AR)”

Step 3: Play the project and click on the View icon in the bottom right corner of the screen. Then select “View in AR” (as shown in the image below).
