- History Faculty Member Receives SUNY Recognition for Excellence
The State University awarded Chancellor's Awards for Excellence in Teaching to Dr. Timothy Thurber, associate professor of history, and Dr. Paula Bobrowski, associate professor of marketing and management. A Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Professional Service went to Robin McAleese, assistant dean of students.

- Three Receive Advisement Awards
Three professors have received SUNY Oswego President's Awards for Excellence in Academic Advisement, which acknowledges dedication to helping students develop academic and life goals.[more]
- The OSWEGONIAN Advances in National Competition
The Oswegonian, SUNY Oswego's weekly student newspaper, has been named a national finalist in the Society of Professional Journalists' Mark of Excellence Awards for outstanding student journalism. The Oswegonian is one of three finalists for Best All-Around Non-Daily Student Newspaper (published less than twice a week).

- Coughlin and O'Connor to Receive Distinguished Alumni Awards
Several SUNY Oswego alumni will receive awards for outstanding achievements during Reunion Weekend, June 6 to 8. Joseph Coughlin of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Robert O'Connor of SUNY Oswego, both 1982 graduates, will receive Distinguished Alumni Awards.

- Retired Biology Professor Adds Second Volume to Series on Plants
Dr. Donald Cox, a SUNY Oswego professor emeritus of biology and a former director of the college's Rice Creek Field Station, is the author of "A Naturalist's Guide to Seashore Plants: An Ecology for Eastern North America," recently published by Syracuse University Press.
