Question:   What is ``CS1''?
Answer:   It is ``the'' first course in computer science programs.   At Oswego CS1 features Java programming in the context of a cognitively flavored emphasis on object-orientation.

Question:   Why this site?
Answer:   It is required by the professor for reasons having to do with learning and assessment.   Hopefully I will gain some valuable insights by maintaining it,  or at least develop substantial intimacy with some of the more important principles of computing.

Question:   What does the ``Glossary of Terms'' section contain?
Answer:   The glossary of terms contains a chronologically ordered collection of the conceptual,  cognitive,  and computational terms defined in class this semester.   For the purposes of this section,  a term was ``defined'' if the professor wrote out a definition prefaced with a ``DEF tag''.   Thus,  this section contains the definitions presented in class indexed by class day.

Question:   What does the ``Compilation of Powerful Ideas'' section contain?
Answer:   The compilation of powerful ideas contains a chronologically ordered collection of the cognitive and computational ideas presented in class this semester are seen to be widely applicable and extraordinarily useful.   Thus,  this section contains the powerful ideas presented in class indexed by class day.

Question:   What does the ``Quotes'' section contain?
Answer:   The quotes section contains words of wisdom which bear on aspects of cognition and computations.   While a number of these quotes were presented in class,  in the main I collected these from various sources outside of class.

Question:   What does the ``Questions and Answers'' section contain?
Answer:   The questions and answers section contains questions about cognition and computation which arose in my mind as I pursued my study of computer science in this course.   Some are techincal.   Some are conceptual.   I have included answers to the questions only whenever I found that I had something informative to say.   Sometimes I wrote the answers long after posing the questions.

Question:   What does the ``Learning Journal'' section contain?
Answer:   The learning journal section was instrumental in informing my learning.   I have chronicaled the strife of my struggles as well as the satisfaction of successes.   Entires don't correspond to class days,  but episodes and events arising from the course related educational processes in which I engaged.

Question:   What does the ``Programming Challenge Archive'' section contain?
Answer:   The programming challenge archive section contains the programming solutions I crafted to the programming challenges which were presented (assigned) throughout the course.
