NOTE: YOU MUST MEET WITH YOUR ADVISOR WITHIN THE FIRST THREE DAYS OF THE
SEMESTER TO DISCUSS YOUR ACADEMIC WARNING STATUS AND CORRECTIVE
ACTIONS THAT YOU COULD TAKE.
As
a result of your academic performance this past semester, you are on
academic warning. There are two standards that set the criteria for
academic warning status. One standard is semester grade point
average and the other is credit hours completed and passed. A review
of your grade report should indicate which one, or possibly both,
apply to your circumstance. The following might be helpful:
Academic warning results for full-time students if any of these apply
DECLARED
MAJORS: If your advisor is not available, contact the advisement
coordinator (name and office number are published in the course
listing newspaper).
UNDECLARED
STUDENTS: If your advisor is not available, the Student Advisement
Center (501 Culkin Hall) will provide you with assistance.

To get yourself into good standing and off of academic warning by the
end of next semester you may have to take one of the following
actions:
It is your
responsibility to initiate the appropriate course of action. If you
cannot understand the situation, academic standards and action that
should be taken can be explained by your advisor. Make an
appointment and meet with her/him as soon as possible after returning
to campus. This should be taken care of within the first three
days of the semester. If you fully understand the situation and
have chosen a course of action, you should still meet with your
advisor to ensure that the choice and action are appropriate. In any
case, the consequences of the choice rest with you.
