There is also the Xcyr package from vak@kiae.su - Serge Vakulenko. I
have used it and like it. It has several key-mapping. This is
accomplished using xmodmap so you can choose the keyboard lay-out you
like and still type in KOI-8. (I have modified it to ALT and
GOSTCII/ISO, too) It uses the Caps_Lock to switch languages.

I'll let you know.

What I am doing is using TeX (actually LaTeX) print my docs. I am
making a filter that will take mixed English and Russian and create a
LaTeX document I can print.

Also I am just finishing a PD Russain spellchecker. If your interested
in it, ispell from ftp.cs.ucla.edu, built with NO8BIT commented out and
send me a note.

I have over 40,000 words, but they are not spell checked.

I posted some info on SunView & X fonts that I made available at an FTP
site. Let me warn everyone, though, that I've gotten some complaints
(and fixes) about the rendering of the space character in some versions
of the fonts. I plan on making the fixed versions available when I get
a chance to put it all together again.

I'll post more information here when it's available. Also, let me
reaquaint interested parties with the mailing list dedicated to Russian
printing using TeX and LaTeX. Send a message containing "HELP" (or is
it "SEND HELP" or "GET HELP"??) to listserv@ubvm.buffalo.edu (internet)
or listserv@ubvm (Bitnet). I've subscribed and downloaded a few files,
but have not really gotten things going well for me with TeX yet.
