What was helpful in this course?
|
The most helpful thing in this course for me was the programming assignments.
They provided me with opportunities to experiment with the java language and were of reasonable difficulty (although the last assignment seemed a little on the too difficult side).
The practice exams were \testbf helpful and definitely helped compensate for the length of the tests. |
What was not helpful in this course?
|
Although I enjoyed the labs, I think a couple of them would have been easier to complete if they had been written more clearly. |
What were the difficult areas?
|
I had a lot of difficulty determining what a static method was, or an instance method.
These things are sinking in now, but they are confusing concepts.
Perhaps some kind of handout would have helped with that stuff.
The final programming assignment is a quantum leap in difficulty over the first four. |
What were the easy areas?
|
No area of this course strikes me as ' easy'. |
What was important?
|
To me, having challenging programming assignments is very important, and this course certainly delivered.
I think it would have been very helpful if the final assignment had been completed in teams of three or four students. |
