For those who are new to Java...
java" runs applications and
you use this binary to run your simulations. javac" compiles java source
code and you use this binary to compile your programs. javadoc" generates documentation
for your simulations. javaws" launches Java Web Start
and you may use this program to launch Eclpss.
The Eclpss software is signed using an internal certificate so you can trust launching the software through Java Web Start.
When you launch Eclpss using Java Web Start, a fairly intimidating dialog will caution you about what you would be letting this application do (write to the hard drive, etc.). It prompts you, asking if you wish to continue. If you still wish to enter the world of Eclpss, click the Continue button.
Upon first startup of the software you will be prompted for the location
of several items. Browse to these items and select
them. If you make a mistake, don't worry, you can change a path
later from the preferences dialog.

This software will be released by version and build. A version change constitutes a major change or addition of features.
Those feature changes will be specified on this site. A change in build number means some bug(s) have been addressed. These fixes will also be noted on this site, or in our up-and-coming "bug database".
Framework and framework-generated models run
under Mac OS X
Workspace Viewer Pause the Model Runner at various times during
the simulation and view workspace from
the Model Runner window to see the values currently in the grid.
Red-Black Tiling An option to run a simulation
in parallel using red-black (checkerboard) tiling.
Select this type of parallel execution if you are doing, for example,
a Gauss-Seidel iteration which reads the north, south, east and west
neighbors.
Grid Bounds Checking After ensuring a simulation runs
correctly, an option to eliminate grid bounds
checking to improve performance time of the simulation.
