Nomenclaturism

[Chandler]
According to this naive realist philosophical position, language is simply a nomenclature-words are simply names for pre-existing things (for some, this may include imaginary things and concepts as well as physical objects). It is a reductionist stance: reducing language to the purely referential function of naming things.
